Chocolate Chunk-Cinnamon Coffee Cake Recipe



1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 cups sugar, divided
2 2/3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups sour cream


Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine chocolate chips, cinnamon and 2/3 cup sugar; set aside. Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Beat butter and remaining sugar in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition. Blend in vanilla. Beat in flour mixture alternately with sour cream.
Pour half the batter into 9x13-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray; top with half the chocolate mixture. Repeat layers.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.
